Who We Are
Our guests and visitors consider us to be a friendly and welcoming group of people. Our mission statement – A Faith Community Offering Hospitality, Hope, and Healing – reflects our values and the importance we place on relationships. St. Peter’s has served our community since 1744. We are a diverse group with both long-time and new residents as well as various backgrounds, experiences, and occupations.
Our 8AM service on Sunday is a traditional (Rite One – 18th century Elizabethian language) worship service: average attendance about 30. Our 10AM service (Rite Two – modern language) is a family eucharist or communion service (average attendance about 55) with eucharist prayers from The Book of Common Prayer and Enriching Our Worship. Sermons are based on each Sunday’s gospel seek to connect with our daily lives and the practices Christians use to grow in their relationships with God and our neighbors. Many of our children have grown up and moved on. We are currently waiting for new young children to continue our Godly Play Sunday School program.
Wednesday morning at 10:00AM, we have a thirty-minute silent meditation call Centering Prayer in our small chapel, followed at 10:30AM by a communion service with a prayer for healing (average attendance is 15). At 11:05AM, we have Bible study until noon.
You are welcome at any or all of these worship services.
